Tonights bed time routine

Wow, a lot has happened since I came on duty.

I stepped out to go potty and talk to Sami, and while I was gone, Milo had a coughing fit, spit bile all over his bed, and increased his heart rate and temperature.  By the time I got back, the sheets where changed, he had been administered Tylenol for the fever and Pulmonary was on site to “suck his lungs”.  Geez, you leave for a few minutes, and everything changes.

They have this cool vest thingy that goes around Milo’s chest and shakes him.  It helps keep his longs clear.  Here is what it looks like.

I also managed to get a good head on shot.  Here is what Milo looks like face front with his halo.  You can also see the breathing tube, the lung sucking tube, the feeding tube and the stomach “out flow” tube.

If you look close, you can see the screws on the sides that hold the halo in place.

They also took Milo off the drug the paralyzes him.  He’s moving a lot more now because of that, so they strapped his arms down, just in case.

Also, in case you where wondering, he had a hard time peeing, so they flushed his catheter.  He’s got great flow now.

As I write this, his pulse, blood pressure, temperature and fever are all down.  That’s a good thing.

I guess that’s all from me for now, except to say that I feel very blessed to be Milo’s dad.  He’s a great kid and it’s humbling to think God trusted me enough to send me this boy.

Night all.

Thank you for sharing the pictures and updates on Milo. We had no idea he was back in the hospital for surgery.
Milo is definitely our HERO and his parents too. God did trust the right family for Milo to be in.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
No worries about Milo having to gain weight when he gets home, we will be happy to take care of that for him. Dessert land is on us!

    Love, the other Thompsons
