Thursday’s seem to be our lucky day. That is the day we always have doctor appointments….
I faithfully sprayed Hydrogen Peroxide on Milo’s wound twice a day for a whole week. Ok, I DRENCHED Milo’s wound in Hydrogen Peroxide twice a day for almost a whole week. It just kept looking worse. Till finally I was sure it had an infection. But instead of going back to the surgeons, I thought I’d give them a break, I just went to our regular pediatrician. So on Thursday February 18, we went to see Dr. Weger.
She took one look at it and agreed it looked VERY unhealthy. So she took a culture of it and sent it to the lab. In the meantime I got clearance to start putting Neosporin on it. So I faithfully continued to drench the wound in Hydrogen Peroxide and now Neosporin (the more you put on the faster it heals…. right??). Unfortunately it still wasn’t looking better, it was looking worse. Especially on Friday night when the “scab” fell off.
See, the wound had scabbed over (at least that is what it looked like) and the scab just kept looking bigger and fatter (wish I would have taken a picture, bummer!). Once it fell off, it looked like it left a hole in Milo’s head. Ewe!!
Aw, poor boy! Does it hurt him at all? Of course not– what was I thinking? Well we still think of you often and hope this gets resolved pronto so the halo can come off.
