I feel bad that I have not written in so long. I hope I have not lost any of my following due to my lack of updates. I hope no one has had to go through too much morning because of my absence….. :0) With that out of the way, lets get on with the news!
On Saturday March 28 we went to mom’s for a late birthday celebration for Milo. Since mom has gotten a new wheel chair that gives her better mobility, she requested that we go to the zoo.
We got to mom’s, had a quick lunch, piled into the van and headed off. Mom has a ride service that picks her up. We met back up at the zoo and had a great time.
We were there about 3 hours and had a blast. The kids got to see animals they hadn’t seen before. They got to touch sting rays. They ran around and had a lots of fun!
After the zoo we went home and had dinner, a birthday cake and presents.

After clean up each kid got a goodie bag. It was a very fun Saturday and we were grateful to mom and Sara for making it so special. We are glad that we live so close so that we can see them often and the kids can get to know them so well.
On Saturday April 11, we went to mom’s again for an Easter celebration. We started out this visit by doing some chores around the house. The kids don’t mind. They know that at grandma’s house (unlike at home) when the chores are done, great things are in store for them. So after an hour of cleaning we joined Auntie Sara at an egg hunt put on by their apartment complex.
[waiting so patiently for face painting]
They had face painting going on. There was this one girl trying to do a line of about 20+ kids. Since 5 of them were mine, I jumped in and offered to help. After I did, another guy offered too. My first attempt at a bunny was pathetic and I felt awful for the little girl. When everyone had had their turn I called her back over and redid her face, having had more practice at that point.
Besides the face painting, they did a cake walk, a raffle and the egg hunt. It was very fun for all. I missed most of it because I was painting faces, but it all worked out in the end. After that we went back and had some free time, finished up a few more things and then the kids went walking with Auntie Sara.
While they were gone, I cooked lunch and Scott hid eggs for a hunt at Grandma’s house. The kids enjoyed that surprise. Then we watched Country Bears (actually a very cute movie) and then ate dinner. After that we packed up and went home. It was such a nice visit and a wonderful way to start the Easter weekend.
I love that picture in front of the Condor wings.
Sounds like you guys had a great couple Saturdays at Grandma’s house. Keep brushing up those face painting skills. You never know when they’re going to be called upon again. ;)
BTW- Niah is looking so grown up in those pictures.
Yes, Niah is so big! It looks like she is almost as tall as Milo! Thanks for the update… we know that spring time is a busy time, so our expectations are low!
sounds like fun and jamie is doing good on her blog
