-Some funny things the kids have said:
*Afton going potty at the zoo; She sits down and someone comes in and goes in the stall next to her. They start to pee. She gets this HUGE smile on her face and says ‘Is that me?’
*Toby couldn’t come over on Thursday. On Friday Milo asks which day Toby is suppose to come over. I told Milo that Toby was suppose to come over yesterday but he had a pretty bad fever and couldn’t come. Milo said ‘A bad fever? Did he die?’ ‘No, he just doesn’t feel very well’ ‘Oh good, because if he had died I would have cried and cried and cried and been so sad!!’
*Milo telling Grandma something; ‘…..Toby, he’s a Bennett,…..’
*Afton on the potty, just sitting there ‘Afton, where is your pee?’ ‘I dunno, I can’t find it.’
-I’m feeling so much better these days and even exercising. It feels great to be active everyday. However, with my new found “energy” I can’t seem to get to bed before 11 and most of the time midnight. So while I’m feeling more energetic, I’m feeling more tired too! Silly I know!
-I’ve officially stopped nursing. I think that is what finally helped me kick my sick streak. I realized that it would be best to have a well mommy and that Keri would survive just fine with formula for a few months. A few weeks after I stopped nursing a friend of mine gave me a bunch of formula that she didn’t need anymore. Now I won’t have to buy anymore. It should last us till Keri is old enough to drink milk. The blessings we receive are amazing!
-I had this nasty cough for most of the month. It was a dry cough. I wasn’t congested or feeling sick in any other way. I just constantly coughed. Cough medicine wouldn’t even take it away. It took 3 weeks for it to go away entirely. During the first week, I lost my voice. It was weird, but it’s so nice not to be coughing anymore.
-Alix picked up this weird facial rash. I was a little concerned that it was something more than just a rash. Alix LOVES to put things in her mouth and last week at the park she picked up some pretty interesting items and had put them in her mouth. I went to the doctor and she prescribed some Mupirocin ointment. The doctor was a bit vague on what it was and why Alix had this so I did some of my own research on line. I guess this medication is used to treat Impetigo. I’ve been very worried about this anyway and I didn’t want it to spread or get worse. After reading up on it, I was even more worried. But it seems to be getting better. I just feel bad for Alix because she is required to constantly wash her hands, no kissing, hugging or sharing anything with anyone. I think she feels a bit ostracized. When we saw mom she asked if Alix had Impetigo. I was shocked that she could recognize it so easily. She said I had a few times when I was a little girl. She said they told her children who like to play with/in dirt are more prone to get it. She also said children who have dry/chapped lips are more prone to get it too. Both those items describe Alix exactly. Guess Alix is more like me than I’m willing to admit!
