Some fun things I want to mention. Today, Monday January 26 I noticed a tooth in Keri’s mouth. Bottom left. It’s very cute. I was sure she was getting a tooth but I thought it was the top right. I can see that tooth, it just hasn’t broken through yet. Anyway, she has her first tooth and I was just as excited as I was the first time I noticed a tooth in Jaime’s mouth. Some things never get old.
Yesterday I was gathering all the garbage since Monday is collection day. I sent Milo upstairs to get the garbage from up there. I asked him to go up one more time and check and see if there were any dirty diapers left on the changing table. He came back down. I asked him if he remembered to check for some diapers. He said ‘yep, there were two.’ I then asked him to please go back upstairs and actually bring me the dirty diapers. Guess I should have been more specific the first time!!
This morning, for the first time, Milo read a scripture by himself. He needed a little bit of help with some of the big words, but he did it. What an amazing boy!
[The bathroom as of 3 weeks ago. It’s completely bare now. I’ll have to take a more recent picture and post it]
As I have mentioned in previous posts, Scott is redoing our upstairs bathroom. Milo needed to go to the bathroom and I was using the bathroom downstairs and so I told Milo to run upstairs to our bathroom. When he was coming back downstairs he informed me that he ‘did a great thing.’ He proceeded to tell me how he peed down the hole in the hall bathroom instead of using our bathroom.
I went upstairs and sure enough he did. How did I know? Well, 5 year old boys don’t have THAT great of aim. He was given the lecture about how we use toilets, not holes, to go to the bathroom. I think he gets it now and will not do that again. How do you clean up pee off of wood?
If Milo is anything like my boys…then he really enjoyed the novelty of peeing in a new hole! Just be glad he didn’t choose your kitchen sink. I think Dylan that did that once when he didn’t want to go upstairs.
Sami, please accept my condolences and empathy. I assure you, Milo is very normal. Wouldn’t you like to multiply him and have five? I have been laughing about this all morning.
