CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Fun News

I haven’t done any children updates for a while, so here goes:

Jaime is plugging along with school. Fourth grade seems to be a bit of a challenge, especially when your mom is sick more than not! But Jaime seems to step up to the challenge and is doing well. Her dance and piano are going well to. Her dance class is doing so well that her teacher is teaching them the dance that she is teaching to her high school class. Jaime’s class is just a good group of girls that seem to have a natural talent for dance. I’m quite impressed how well they all look together. Jaime has advanced to the next piano book. She is excited about that. This will be her fourth book in a year and a half. Jaime lost a tooth this last month. After 5 nights of forgetting to be the tooth fairy, Scott and I decided to spill the beans and save ourselves a lot of trouble. Jaime just smiled and said ‘I know’. Guess she didn’t want to give up the cash.

Alix is doing well in school. She is finally seeing the advantage of getting school done quickly and having the remainder of the day to herself. She is also loving dance and seems to be doing well. She has started an art class with my friend Laura. Laura wanted to do art with her son but didn’t want to go to all that trouble without involving others, so she invited Alix to join in. Alix is enjoying that very much. Alix is growing a lot and she is even growing out her hair. A first for Alix. She usually enjoys it short. She too knows about the tooth fairy, easy!! Recently when we were having family prayer, Alix was blessing each of us. She then paused a moment and then said ‘please bless all those with the last name of Thompson’ and then continued her prayer. It was too funny.

Love Alix’s prayer! That is so cute. I can’t wait until my kids can actually come up with heartfelt prayers on their own instead of saying the same things over and over. Of course it’s very cute to watch and hear Nina “help” Maya with her prayers.
