2015 was a BIG learning year for all the Thompson’s:
Scott learned that:
-Fixing cars is a good hobby
-Scout camp is fun for the leaders too
Sami learned that:
-Being co-president of the swim team, on the charter school governance council and having multiple church callings makes for good excuses to say no….
Jaime (16) learned that:
-Failing your driving test once isn’t the end of the world
-Having your first date be a blind date with a hot guy is awesome
-Being smarter than half the college students in your class makes you want to try harder
-Having a “real” job is lucrative
Alix (14) learned that:
-Youth dances can be fun
-Getting up early for seminary isn’t that bad
-Being a basketball athlete is a lot of work but also a lot of FUN
-Riding “real” roller coasters ROCK, especially when you ride them with your mom
Milo (12) learned that:
-Teeth are easier to clean once you get your braces off
-Passing sacrament is an awesome priesthood responsibility
-Running a mile on the cross country team is actually quite enjoyable
-Achieving the Star Scout rank + 10 merit badges feels pretty good
Niah (11) learned that:
-Running is more fun as a hobby instead of on a cross country team
-Winning your heat in swim team champs gets you a BIGGER ribbon than regular swim meets
-Keeping her 28 stuffed animals organized makes for a happier mom
-Taking care of kids is really fun
Afton (9) learned that:
-Placing 8th out of 134 runners at a cross country meet is a good feeling
-Riding a “real” roller coaster isn’t as much fun as she thought
-Being .01 seconds away from breaking the swim team record doesn’t mean you broke it
-She loves cooking
Keri (7) learned that:
-Dancing in parades is really fun
-Knowing how to swim is actually super fun
-Jumping off the diving board is even more fun
-Second grade is fun but challenging
