CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Mom Time

on June 8, 2013

I don’t get away as a mom very often. The first time I actually left home by myself for longer than an hour was when I was 6 months pregnant with Keri. I was gone for 3 days. I went to Utah and visited my friend Cathy.

The next time I was gone by myself was another 3 days and went to Utah to visit my friend Mandi. I was truly alone that time. I was not pregnant and left the kids at home.

Well, I did it again. This time for a full 7 days!! It was amazing. I missed my kids and Scott, but having some time to recharge, chat without interruption, and take care of only myself was GREAT!

I of course kept myself busy. I can’t sit still for too long, but I felt energized and refreshed when I got home.

My main purpose for traveling this time was for Mandi’s wedding. I was so happy for her and it was fun that she was marrying her high school sweet heart. Since they were dating in high school, that meant I knew him pretty well too (often the 3rd wheel here….) and so it was fun to reconnected and catch up after all these years.

It had been a long day at this point….

Mandi and Robbie had a beautiful wedding. Cathy came and did the photography for them so I got to see her and Mandi a lot.

So beautiful!

I also got to spend a few hours with Torry and her boys. Such FUN boys. I’m so glad I had that time to get to know them.

I got to spend some time with Miranda and her boys. Noah was in a kindergarten opera. Let me tell you, that was about the cutest thing I’ve seen in a LONG TIME!

I got to spend an afternoon with Cathy. She always amazes me. I met her granddaughter. What a cute little girl she is! And Cathy helped me make Mandi’s upcoming wedding even more special by helping make her a bachelorette cake. So FUN!

I got to spend multiple days with my brother and his kids. They are so fun and awesome. I especially appreciate my niece for giving up her butterfly room to me. Thanks Caitlin. Your bed rocks!!

I got to spend lots of time with Mandi’s family too. They are such wonderful people and I’m so blessed to have them in my life. Thanks Hansen’s!!

Unfortunately, I was having so much fun, the camera stayed tucked nicely in it’s case. O’well. I have lots of memories in my brain!

I was so glad to come home to my family though. Nothing says I love you more than happy kids and an amazing husband. As much fun as I had there, coming home was the most fun of all.

Life is wonderful!
