CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Easter

on June 8, 2013

We put a new twist on Easter this year that might just be our new tradition.

We did not celebrate the secular Easter “stuff” till Monday during Family Home Evening. 2 amazing advantages to this….

1- On Sunday we can focus more on the Savior and His sacrifice for us
2- Monday morning at 7am all Easter stuff is half off!! I spent half as much and got twice as much. The kids never had a better Easter and I spent less than $20.

We pulled it off because a) The Easter Bunny has never been a big deal around here anyway. The kids get stuff, but it’s not like Christmas Eve when no one can sleep. b) We came up with a creative way to ward off the slightly down turned lips of our children.

On Monday when I grabbed out the egg decorating kits so the kids could choose which on they wanted to use, the kids found clues hidden in one of the boxes. When the clues fell out the kids were a little confused at first but soon caught on that the clue led to the location of their Easter treats.

After getting Easter treats,

playing with our Easter surprises,

eating too much candy, coloring eggs and eating specially cooked blackened ribs,

we had HIGHLY turned up lips! :o)

A very fun Easter for sure!

We had potatoes with dinner. This one was too cute to eat before taking a picture!
