CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

February Highlights

on March 31, 2013

I did not take many pictures in February but fun things happened that I’d like to remember.

-A friend of mine had a baby. What makes this so memorable is that I was her on call person and she had to actually use me! I’ve been on call for quite a few friends but no one has ever used me. It was kinda fun being the on call person. It was also the first time since being a mom I had to get kids up and dressed and to school on time. That was a new adventure I’m glad I don’t do everyday! :o)

-Milo’s basketball season ended. Can you believe it, I didn’t get one picture all season! Boo!! But his team did well. They won one game this season. An improvement over last season! Milo learned a lot and has some good skills now. Hopefully he’ll keep practicing and enjoy doing basketball again. It is a good sport to teach team work and the boys have to do a lot of running!

-We attended a wedding at S.F. city hall. Not to offend anyone, but I thought when people got married at a city hall they were just eloping basically. Not in S.F. apparently. City Hall is beautiful and so are the brides that go there. It has a HUGE domed ceiling that has carvings and paintings everywhere. It was gorgeous. I just kept looking up. I couldn’t help it!

-I went and visited Sara. She is doing well. I took her shopping for some much needed clothes, shoes and personal items. We splurged and got lunch at Home Town Buffet. We were in there for 2 hours. No joke! It was so good.

-We had the Blue and Gold dinner for cub scouts. It was SO FUN! We did a carnival theme. The kids all had a blast. Jaime was in charge of games. She decided what games would be played, set them up and found other youth to man the games. She did a good job and was given A LOT of accolades.

-Milo earned his bear rank in Cub Scouts. Good thing too. Since he was going to turn 10 a few weeks later!

-I headed the Y.W. girls camp fundraiser. We made and sold frozen cookie dough. If my calculations are correct we made about $900! yay!

-I signed Jaime and Alix up for K12. An online school. It was a bear getting them singed up but boy has it been GREAT. I don’t know why I didn’t do this at the beginning of the year! It now gives me the time I need to really focus on Milo, Niah and Afton. I also feel like Jaime and Alix are getting more of what they need. The stuff I just couldn’t provide anymore because I was feeling TOO stretched.

That about sums up February. We did all the usual stuff too; dance class, p.e., scouts, babysitting and school work. It was a successful month! :o)
