I won’t ramble too much about Christmas. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. But I will just say we did all our traditions. Gather on mom and dad’s bed. Watch movies till everyone is awake. Read about the birth of Christ in the scriptures and then head downstairs to tear open our stockings and have breakfast. Then off to the tree.
Interestingly this year, the kids were so tired they slept in pretty late. We didn’t even get to the present opening till 10:30am. It was noon before we were all done opening presents and starting to call people back (they had called to chat about Christmas but we weren’t done yet!!). We didn’t have TONS of presents to open but we really enjoy taking our time and the simpleness of family togetherness and love.
Yum, breakfast
I just love this shot. Scott did so well capturing it!
Isn’t that picturesque with the fire burning and the Christmas tree?? I’ve LOVED using our fireplace this winter.
My kids are so crazy! Milo insists on wearing shorts and t-shirts. I get it’s not THAT cold here, but cold for us.
You can’t really see her, but Gertie had crawled up and fell asleep next to Alix. Alix felt very special!
Grandma and Grandpa Thompson gave everyone a bit of money and their testimony for Christmas. It was such a special moment that day to stop and read the words my kids’ Grandparents had to tell them. Thanks guys!
I LOVE watching my kids give each other gifts. It’s so sweet how thoughtful they are. They really try and find something the other person would love.
Milo’s prized possession, a watch. He has wanted one for years but they have been a bit more than we were willing to spend. Check out the $4 Black Friday special! He LOVES it.
See Jaime’s face??? We had such a hard time thinking of something to give these big girls that we could fit into our budget. Thankfully we had enough gift cards given to us in years past that we had not used that we gave the girls a night out on the town. They were ECSTATIC. I love how my girls are satisfied with dinner and a movie. Their friends were talking about their iPods and MP3 players and my girls joyfully announced they got to go to the movies. LOVE it!
Thanks mom and dad!
Afton LOVES bubble gum.
Alix made me these pajama pants. I LOVE them. The colors are awesome!
Another Alix gift. She honed in on Milo and Scott’s love of the A’s and made them gifts they could use at the games.
Scott LOVES hot chocolate. When Dean and Ally sent this to him it was the perfect gift. I don’t know how they knew of his love of hot chocolate, but it was a wonderful gift. Thanks!
Scott tends to have a cold head. I kept that in mind when I found this beauty! I love the fire in the background. Makes you think we are in the middle of the Dakota’s or something, not the Bay Area.
Our Christmas dinner. Ham and potatoes.
