Since I’m writing this post almost 2 months after that wonderful day I have to say I don’t feel as old as it sounds!! I was chatting with some moms at the park and we were getting to know each other better and I mentioned how old I was in the same sentence about being done having children. One mom looked at me and said ‘Girl, you are young. You could have more kids.’
My birthday was wonderful. It always is. I have such a thoughtful family. It can’t be easy making my birthday special when it’s so close to Christmas, so I appreciate them for that.
My birthday landed on a Sunday. A very busy Sunday at that. So we celebrated in the morning before church. Scott was conducting that day for Sacrament meeting and found it necessary to announce my birthday over the pulpit, Thanks Babe!
After church we had a quick lunch and then headed back for a baptism. Once that was over we headed to the McKunes for dinner and cake and ice cream. Scott was super busy this whole time with tithing settlement and I had yet to see much of him. But the Bishop was super grateful for his assistance as Scott was the only one willing to stick around and help. He’s such a great guy.
We celebrated at the McKune’s this year because their oldest daughter, Sara, has the same birthday as me. It was fun to have a little party and remember how fun and special my mom used to make my birthday when I was little. I actually remember the birthday, when I was a child, that landed on Sunday. Being with Sara reminded me of that day so many years ago. I remember my mom making a big deal about it to everyone and how special I felt. So many people wishing me a happy birthday. This birthday was similar except the baton was passed to my wonderful husband. I got so many birthday wishes. It was awesome.
What about your birthday dinner at Ming’s? That was pretty good, too….well, it was for me. Love you guys! Glad your birthday was special. I love birthdays.
