CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Scott Update

on October 29, 2012

Scott’s been a busy guy lately. He’s taking lessons from me in scheduling life to the fullest! But I love it! He’s engaged in so many wonderful pursuits and I’m so happy for him and for our kids!

One long weekend in September and another long weekend in October Scott went to Woodbadge. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what that is, it’s Boy Scout Training. It’s OFFICIAL boy scout training. We both figured that since Milo will be there in about 18 months, Scott might as well learn all he can now!

A couple of weeks ago Scott took Milo to draft day for the city basketball league. He came home and said ‘Guess who Milo’s coach is?’ I couldn’t guess. Can you?? Yep, Scott!! He’s Milo’s coach. Milo is so happy!! He thinks it’s the coolest thing that his dad is the coach. So do I!! Starting in just a few weeks Scott will hold weekly practices and one game every Saturday.

Scott is taking 4 classes this quarter. He is doing awesome and has even learned how to hide his stress! He is half done with this quarter. If all works out, he will take 4 classes next quarter and then he’ll have one class left!! YAY!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

After all that he also seems to find time for my to-do list. Fro instance, our shoe situation had gotten WAY out of control. Even with each person only owning 4 pairs of shoes, that is 32 pairs of shoes to keep track of. I was pulling my hair out every time we needed to leave because without fail at least one person had NO IDEA where a pair of shoes were. After weeks of searching, Scott finally just built me a shoe shelf. It fits really nicely right next to the front door and is the best invention yet!! Do you know we have not been on a shoe search in a MONTH!! That’s a record! He’s so awesome!

He also obliged to rearranging the house for me!! It started when we were offered a memory foam mattress. I’ve heard so many good things about them that we jumped on the idea. But I didn’t want to get rid of ours because I thought it would be nice to have a queen size bed for guests. So we put that bed in Milo’s room and gave Milo’s bed away. After a month both Scott and I decided that we DO NOT like memory foam mattresses. So we found some who does and gave them that one and took our old bed back from Milo leaving him with no bed.

SO, we took the bed out of the play room and gave it to Milo. Took the little couch from the living room and put it in the playroom. Took the bookcase out of the playroom and switched it with the bookcase downstairs so that it would fit in Milo’s room. Then we rearranged the living room so that the fire place is now exposed and had a chimney sweep come and clean the chimney/fireplace. It was quite a bit of rearranging. But the new arrangement is awesome and without Scott taking a whole day to help me do it, it never would have gotten done. THANKS SCOTT!!

Ok, enough bragging. Scott Rocks!! Love you babe!
