This dance season marks Jaime’s 9th year dancing for the city. Unfortunately it was a rough go though this year.
About 3 weeks before dance class was to start I received an email from a mom of one of the girls. She said that they had decided not to go with the city program and who wanted to follow her. Another mom wrote back and said they were staying with the city who wanted to stay.
I left the decision up to Jaime. But in the meantime I got an email from another source about a dance school that has a tap only dance class. Jaime has been wanting to take a tap only dance class for years. So I got more information about it. Same price, same distance and what she wanted.
So we went and checked it out. She wasn’t too sure after the first class. It seemed too easy for her. But it’s a fast paced class and has since come home each week sore and tired. Yay!!
But, she was not sure she really wanted to give up the city dance class. She LOVES it and loves her friends and the teacher. So after much debate and praying and more praying, we let Jaime sign up for both. We figure if she’s paying for it, why not.
So now Jaime does an hour dance class on Wednesday nights and one on Thursday nights.
Also, during all this, we realized how much our younger kids really needed something more in life than school work and chores. So we looked into signing the girls up for dance. That was what they wanted to do. Fortunately for us, we were able to sign up Alix, Niah and Afton for dance. They were so excited.
Know what that means for me though??? 3 1/2 hours straight of dance class on Thursday’s. Whew!! But it hasn’t been as bad as I thought. I just have the girls save out 1 or 2 subjects from school and we do them there. It works perfect. They dance, have dinner and then do school work. So far so good.
Next week, Milo starts Basketball. He’s so excited!!
