CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

The Worst one Yet!!

(So darn cute!!)

Friday October 17 was a good day of getting school and chores done. I was thinking on Friday about how many times I write about how we do school and chores and yet I feel that I am always behind in school and my house is always trashed. It left me pondering on how that is. I’m still pondering on it! We got to the park and played till 6:30. Very fun. We came home and put the kids right to bed. They were all very tired and almost excited to go to bed. I then met up with Camille and we went to Costco together. I did my bi-monthly stock up of Costco products and felt good about my loot! I got home and we put everything away and then we watched the rest of Alice in Wonderland and then went to bed.

Saturday was suppose to be an early morning but we slept in till 7am. By the time we all got out of bed and dressed and ready to go it was 9. Scott left to go walking for PROP 8 and I went to the church for a primary activity. Both were very successful. Scott managed to talk to 80 houses (which might not sound like a lot but it took him 3 hours). We had 12 kids show up for the activity (which might not sound like a lot, but it was half the primary). I also took the time to make all my copies and get everything organized and ready for Sunday. That way our Sunday morning would go much better. I got home by 1 and Scott got home about 1:45pm. As soon as Scott walked in we started in on the yards. We did the back yard first. We cleaned and swept the patio. Cleaned and mowed the lawn. Cleaned out more of the rusted old shed. Cleaned and organized and swept the side yard. Then we moved to the front. We found bush trimmers in the shed so I started whacking away at the bushes while Scott mowed the lawn. All the kids helped here and there with Jaime being the go getter. Alix and Milo really caught onto the bush whacking and Afton, Niah and Keri just stayed out of the way!! :0) We finished it all by 5:15. We felt hot, tired and sore but it sure did look good and we were glad we did it. Oh ya, Scott also climbed on the roof and cleared off all the pine needles. He tried to do the gutters but just didn’t have the right tools, that’ll be another day. We had a dinner of left overs and got everyone to bed before 8. Scott spent the evening finishing up his Sunday school lesson and I tapped away at the computer (as always!!). Since I didn’t have any Sunday stuff to do I enjoyed my tapping a lot! Scott and I managed an early bedtime…..10:30pm.

Sunday morning came a little too early for me, but it came non the less. We got to church happy and on time. We were getting ready to start the sacrament and Keri was a little fussy. It seemed as though she just wanted to be held, so I grabbed her out of her seat. As I took her out I noticed something in her car seat. Upon closer examination I realized it was poo. I looked at her and she was covered, lucky for me only my hand was covered. I showed Scott, he just laughed and waved bye-bye. I put Keri back in her seat, took Afton’s hand and we were gone. I made it home and put Keri’s car seat down. I stripped so as to not get my church clothes covered. Then I took Keri, still in her car seat, upstairs and got the water warm in the bath. I stripped her and washed her down. Dressed her, nursed her and put her on my bed. Then I cleaned the bathtub, soaked the clothes and went to clean the car seat. I realized it was going to be quite the process so I abandoned that idea and went to the garage to get our other car seat. I put Keri in there, put my clothes back on and proceeded to go to the car. That’s when I saw it, the puddle of poo on the living room floor. My heart sank. Yep, a puddle of poo on the carpet in the hallway and a puddle of poo in the car. I just prayed that there wasn’t a trail of poo from the church to my car. I cleaned up all the puddles, loaded the girls in the car and went back to church. Whew, no trail from the church to my car and whew, no puddle in the sacrament room. Yay!! I got to listen to the last minute of the last talk. I then went into primary mode. This was our last time to practice until the performance. The kids did a great job. There are still some gliche’s but I guess we’ll work with that. I’m also hoping that the kids will do better once it’s the actual performance. We shall see. After church I did not have a meeting or any other commitments, so it was nice to go home as a family and have quiet time. We had some family baseball in the backyard before dinner. Then a family walk after dinner. The kids got to bed a little late, but that’s ok. We had a great day! Oh ya, we also cleaned the car seat! What a job! We ended up have to take the entire thing apart, including all the straps. I threw everything I could into the washer and the rest of it we washed out with a wash cloth and then Lysol wipes. I think we finally got rid of the poo…. :0)

We joke about Nina’s first poop after starting solid foods- the Great Blow-Out of 2004. It too was in her car seat. Sounds like Keri really did a number. And there you go again, super-mom even got back in time to magnify her calling!!

SAMI! I like what you’ve done with the place! Take that Holly! ;) You were so calm and collected when I saw you at church. One would have never guessed you just went to the great poo-showdown.
