Having to let go of certain traditional summer activities this year, there were a few we would NOT let go of. Going to an A’s game was one of them. Since we were able to get the tickets for free, we figured we could spring for the gas to get there.
Earlier in the summer the kids paid for their own tickets and went to an A’s game with families from church. It was suppose to be a fireworks game, but the game went so long, Scott and the kids left before the fireworks started. When the game hit it’s 14th inning the announcer said ‘We have a new tradition here at the A’s stadium, the 14th inning stretch!’ I’m so glad I stayed home for that one!!
Our family experience went much better. Only 9 innings and they did end up winning. It was fun to be there as a family (minus one, Jaime was SUPER sick! But she had gone to the other game, so she didn’t feel too deprived).
Such a fun evening. Lots of fun things to eat and perfect weather. Too hot before the sun set, too cold after the sun set. But we brought plenty of warm things and even had an extra seat to store it all since Jaime wasn’t able to come. :o(
