Jaime celebrated her 13th birthday this year. Boy how time flies. Really, she’s a teenager?? An official teenager?? These next 7 years will be the best and worst of her entire life (if she is normal in any way!!).
Since her birthday fell on a Sunday I made it a point to tell everyone. She had a lot of birthday wishes and the YW sang happy birthday to her. She wanted manicotti, twice baked potatoes, salad and cheesy bread for dinner. It was a REALLY good meal. Even though it seems those things don’t quite go together, it was so yummy!!
Jaime wanted an ice cream cake for her birthday. She wanted mint chip. So I obliged. Everyone said it came out really good! The decorations were simple, but Jaime seems to be into that lately. She goes more for flavor, not decoration on the cake.
Since I just wrote a whole post about this wonderful oldest child, I don’t need to repeat it here. But we do LOVE Jaime so very much. We do appreciate her and her hard work and service to our family. She gives so much of her time and talents to her younger siblings. It’s great.
It’s also been fun to watch Jaime and Alix get along more. As Alix enters the same stages that Jaime has been through it seems to be bringing them closer together again. It’s fun to watch them laugh and enjoy each other’s company.
Here’s to 16 more years of raising teenagers. Our journey has just begun. But, if it’s anything like it’s been so far, it will be a wonderful journey. Love you Jaime!
I miss you guys and your yummy food when I read posts like this! Happy birthday Jaime! I hope my girls end up like you!!
13?? She is so beautiful. And I would totally be calling her up to babysit. Such a great young lady. Sami, I miss you!!
