I’m pretty sure that any little boy you talk to, if you gave them the opportunity to be in the pits at a race, they’d take it!
Apparently the owner of our house owns a race car and employs a racer. A few months ago he was talking to Scott about this and said he wanted to take Milo to a race sometime. When I went to pay the rent in June he said he wanted to take Milo the first Saturday in July.
Scott arranged the whole thing. Milo and Scott went to the shop early and watched the car get loaded. Milo met the racer and got a t-shirt and cap. Took some pictures and floated home on cloud nine.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Milo do chores so quickly. Then he got showered and dressed and ready to go. When Joe showed up to get Milo and Scott, Milo says ‘I thought you’d never come. I’ve been watching for you for an hour.”
Apparently they had a good time. Milo helped in the pits with washing off the mud and doing whatever it is you do in the pits. The racer came in 3rd place. I guess he held the lead till the last couple of laps and lost it. But it was a good day and Scott and Milo said they’d definitely go again.

I could not peel that shirt off of him for days! I finally got it into the wash. Kids and race cars….
