Final family member update. I know I did one a few months ago about Scott but here we go again. This guy does a lot in two months!!
-Scott is DONE with is first Masters’ degree!! Way to go babe!! His official conferral date was July 15, 2012. Very cool!! He now has an MSMIS degree. It means: Master of Science in Management Information Systems. As exciting as this is, it was a bit anti-climatic. Since he is still going to school and has now doubled up on his classes for his second degree, it seemed as though he just kept going. No pomp and circumstance. Nothing. Just a letter and a congrats. I think the climax will come when he gets his second degree and gets back out in the work force.
-Speaking of work force, Scott has picked up a part time job. He was walking a few weeks ago and his boss from the pool place (remember that job?? 13 years ago he had that job) stopped and they chatted for a few minutes. Apparently he bought the old place back and was looking for someone part time to answer phones and sell supplies. He said it’s really slow right now and Scott was more than welcome to study and do whatever he needed to in between helping customers. So 3 times a week Scott studies at the pool place while doing minimal work. That’s a huge blessing that will help stretch the dollars even further.
-Speaking of stretching our dollars, Scott won a $1000 scholarship from the computer science department at school. We were pumped. They had a ceremony that we all went to and he was presented with his award and they even did a bbq lunch afterward. Super fun and I’m so proud of him. He’s been working really hard and deserves some recognition for sure!!
-Scott is the yard man! Even though he’s super busy, he finds the time to keep the yards looking good, the sprinklers working and he even got our garden going. Even though we put lots of time and effort into rototilling, planting and watering our garden, it doesn’t seem to be doing well. Well, it is doing good, but we are pretty sure NONE of the plants we planted are the ones that are growing!! Since we use our compost for our garden, we have TONS of volunteers. More than usual. Scott has managed to get spaghetti squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, peas, corn and pumpkin to grow. They are all volunteers but we are hoping they will be GOOD! We did plant one zucchini in the front yard and we are getting some VERY yummy zucchini off of it!
That seems to sum up Scott’s recent doings. He is still totally dedicated to his work in the bishopric and he is still totally dedicated to his work as a dad. I’m so grateful for him and his kindness and generosity and ability to manage it all. What a lucky woman I am!
What is his second masters going to be in, and when do you expect him to be done with that?
Oh and way to Scott!
