CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Niah

on June 18, 2012

At 7.5 years old she is SO EXCITED to be baptized. This is her big year. She has been talking baptism since her 7th birthday and that’s all she can talk about now. I just pray it’s all she’s been hoping for!!

Niah is still excelling in school. She finished her 2nd grade work by January. She was whizzing through the 3rd grade stuff too till I slowed her down. I think she feels the lack of knowledge though. She’s been rebelling a bit against school lately and I think it’s because she is bored. I think I need to step it up next year or I’m going to loose her and her enthusiasm.

Niah is my water girl. I think she was suppose to be born a fish!! :o) She has always loved swimming and if there is a puddle or a hose or any way to play with water, she is there! On a daily basis I find a water mess somewhere in or out of the house. Can’t quite figure out the water feddish, but it helps define who she is.

Swimming is Niah’s favorite summer activity. As a matter of fact, she loves it so much that she gets sick every time she swims. She will not get out of the water the whole time and spends most of that time under the water. She has mastered under water swimming and coming up for breath, but she has not mastered swimming on top of the water. So she usually pukes or has diarrhea after every swim session. I think she just swallows too much pool water.

Niah loves to dance too. While we were at Jaime’s dance recital she was so sad that it was not her up on stage. I think we might reconsider her dance career this coming September. We’ll see how things play out.

Niah says some pretty funny things. Most of which she says with such sincerity, she must think it’s true….
Recently Scott told this funny story:

We were outside gardening and Niah and Afton were talking about composting.

Niah says to Afton: “From bad stuff you get good stuff. Like dad. He used to be a nerd, but now he’s perfect.”

Of course Afton believes her because Afton worships Niah!

That about sums up Niah. She is happy, healthy and VERY goofy. She loves to make us laugh. Her hair is still so straight, unlike all the other girls in this family. She is getting tall too. She is up to my shoulders now. Perhaps my chin. Very active and yet, LOVES to spend hours reading. She is a good reader.

Used to? I thought scott still was a nerd! Not that it has anything to do with him being perfect… Too funny!

Sounds like Niah might be taller than Nina! Aw I miss them all.
