Oh what do I say about Afton?? She is all Sutherland. Moody as all get out but incredibly smart and beautiful and fun to be around (when her mood is right!!) :o)
Afton has finished How To Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons. She finished it about a month ago and is a VERY good reader. She can read her daily scriptures with almost no help and has started reading easy chapter books like Junie B. Jones and The Magic Tree House. She writes really well and LOVES to write me love letters.
Afton is all girl. She LOVES nail polish and dress up and doing her own hair. She has to wear just the right outfit that matches and looks right.
She is a good little helper around the house. She is responsible for cleaning the playroom each afternoon. She empties the dishwasher when needed and puts away the big dishes washed by hand. She is responsible for helping to fold and put away the laundry. She also loves to help out in the kitchen and outside. She is always willing and ready to please.
Afton lost her first tooth. She was super excited about it. She even let me pull it out. Good thing for Milo that she lost a tooth. Apparently the tooth fairy makes 9 year old boys wait a week for a visit, but not 5 year old girls who have lost their first tooth. We gotta have a talk to that tooth fairy….
Afton LOVED p.e. this year and did a great job. She liked all the different sports we played and even enjoyed making some new friends.
Afton LOVES ridding her bike. This girl can go on a 4 mile bike ride, easy and asks for more. She is not afraid of hills either. Not sure where her little body gets all that energy, but she sure does have it.
Afton and Keri are the same size. Afton might have 2 inches on Keri but not more for sure. They share all the same clothes and shoes. Makes it easy though. One less dresser to have in the room!!
We love Afton and are so happy that she is part of our family. This summer I’m sure will prove to make her into a swimmer. She LOVES swimming and is not afraid to try new things.
