CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Keri

on June 16, 2012

Keri is now officially 4. Even though her birthday was yesterday, we celebrated it today because yesterday was a little crazy. She didn’t seem to mind. She felt like she had two days of celebrating!!

Keri has been busy lately. Her last leg appointment (a month ago) went well. The doctor was pleased with the progress and said it was healed but he was still concerned with the bone not being perfectly straight. He said for now it was fine but he wanted to keep an eye on it. She has another appointment in July. He said if it still looked good then, then it was all healed. If not, then I dunno. Guess we’ll find out then!!

This picture is 2 months old but it shows her busted up cast and her walking on it. Had to document both of those here!!

Another view of her cast and her friend Aris.

Keri is loving her bike. She has figured out how to ride with training wheels and wants to do it constantly. Unfortunately her bike is a tad bit small for her, so it’s hard to get going fast. But she tries!

Our first swim day of the summer! Keri had such a good time, but would NOT get off the steps!

More and more it is obvious that Keri is Jaime’s twin born 9 years later! Keri is CONSTANTLY singing and dancing. She is constantly pretending and dressing up in dance outfits. Apparently she was watching Jaime practice her recent dance a lot closer than any of us realized. Then one day Alix called us all together and sang the song that Jaime danced to and Keri started doing the dance moves. Close to perfect, for a 3 year old anyway! She is a born dancer, just like Jaime was/is.

Keri's birthday breakfast

She is definitely the spoiled sixth child! We all just love her so much, we can’t help but laugh at all she does. This girl has no idea what it’s like to get in trouble. Most of the time she just smiles really cute and says something really cute and gets off Scott free!

As girlie as she is, she doesn’t play well with girls other than her sisters. She has her friend Aris (a boy) that comes over every afternoon and they play splendid together. But as for little girls, I dunno, just not her thing! Maybe it’s because she can boss Aris around and little girls don’t take to that very well!! :o)

Like I said we celebrated her 4th birthday today. She started out with a yummy pancake breakfast. She was so excited to get that! We did cake and presents in the afternoon after lunch. It was SO HOT today that we didn’t do much else. We stayed in the house close to fans and played games. She enjoyed the attention and all her presents SO MUCH! She is such a girlie girl. She carried her presents around in a pink bag all day. When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted she said ‘Pink and it says Happy Birthday Keri’. She got just that!

Can't wait to open the loot!

Candy Necklace, Thanks Jaime!!

Homemade pillow pet, Thanks Alix!!

Bubble set, Thanks Milo!

Suffted whale, Thanks Niah!

Yummy Ring pops, Thanks Afton!

My 4 favorite things about Keri:

So many fun things, Thanks Brother and Sister Martin!!

-She makes us laugh so much! She will tell us a story, half of which makes no sense at all, and then start laughing so hard we can’t help but laugh too.

-Her imagination. She just talks and sings and dances to whoever her imagination decides. She can be found anytime, anywhere chattering away at whoever she is chatting too. It is so cute! When she doesn’t realize we are watching we love to sit and watch her!

Can she do it???

-Her desire to please. She tries really hard to use her manners and obey that she is overly cute about it. I think she knows it too and tries even harder!

MAJOR spitage going on here!! But she blew it out!

-Her excitement for life. Every little thing is still so exciting to her. She’ll wake in the morning and ask ‘What are we doing today’ and no matter what I tell her she says ‘Yay, I wuv…..’ I wish I had such enthusiasm for the everyday!!

Mmmmmm!!

All in all Keri is a happy, healthy 4 year old. She pumps herself on the swing, rides with training wheels, washes her own hands, gets herself bathed and dressed, draws smiley faces and some letters and will even “read” you a story if you are willing to listen! Playing school is one of her favorite pastimes.

Such a joy to have around!! Love you Keri!

Ah, Keri is so sweet! I tried to email you on her birthday, but it bounced back to me… Do you have a new address?

Can’t wait to see you guys again. It will happen, someday!
