CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Blue and Gold dinner

on April 13, 2012

Every year Cub Scouts celebrate the birthday of cub scouts by having a Blue and Gold dinner. This year was no exception. We held ours on February 28. I volunteered to do the decorations. Seemed easier than my task last year!

Anyway, a VERY nice event. It was also the pack meeting where Milo got a ton of awards. He earned his Wolf, 1 gold and 5 silver arrow points, 4 belt loops and 2 pins. He was one happy boy!

Milo was also the announcer for the flag ceremony. He did a fabulous job!

Like my decorations? The Wolves made these during a den meeting. They made the perfect center peices.

We had a burrito bar for dinner and then the kids learned the Mexican Hat Dance using a big parachute. They thought that was fun!

They even had a smaller parachute for the little kids. It was SO FUN!!

The Pinata line

This is Milo getting his Wolf badge. Good Job Milo!

Do you see the red vest he is wearing? In cub scouts they have this vest. They call it a brag vest. I’m not big on spending lots of money but I figured when he went to scouts we wanted to make sure he had his full uniform. Well, brag vests are not cheap. They were about $15. I was NOT going to pay that! Anyway, a wonderful friend of my mentioned that maybe Alix could make some for all the boys in our ward using her new sewing skills and then count it as a faith in God achievement. She did just that. Care to know how much it cost for Alix to make brag vests???? 75 cents!!! LOVE having a girl who can sew.
