CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

How big…

on December 5, 2011

Ok so I mentioned our cheese guy in brief. We know this guy. We mostly buy cheese from him, but he has all kinds of stuff. We’ve gotten paper cups, laundry detergent, bottled water, frozen meals, frozen pizzas, turkeys, chocolate syrup, candy…. All for less than half of what you’d pay at the cheapest grocery store. The recent cheese we’ve been getting from him comes in 40 pound blocks and is white cheddar. Ever had white cheddar? Simply the best cheese I think I’ve ever had! We get if for about 50 cents a pound!

But we do have to cut it up. No biggie though. After our first escapade with a knife, Scott used his noggin and found his fishing line. We can cut up and store one of these puppies in about 20 minutes!

Scott’s brother Dean made a quick trip up to the Bay Area. He was here long enough to sleep and get attacked by his nieces and nephew. He’s such a good uncle!!

My sister Sara has the wonderful opportunity to be working right now. At the place she works, a number of other people work there that have disabilities. Every year they have an awards ceremony to honor those who have done really well that year. My sister got nominated for an award and so I went to Fresno to be part of it. The ceremony was on Friday October 21 and I got there early and we spent the day together. We didn’t do much but the time spent together was good for both of us. The ceremony was VERY nice and so was the food! It helped me to understand what my sister does and how this place helps her to better her life. Very cool.

The kids did their annual Primary program on Sunday October 23. Very different this year. This was Jaime’s first year not in the program. Kinda sad for me, but very exciting for her. She LOVES young women’s!

I wasn’t up there on the stand either. I got released the Sunday before the program. After 4 years in the primary presidency I am no longer spending my Sunday mornings with the primary children. Instead I am the nursery leader! We have 12 little kids in there (that’s A LOT for our ward) and only 2 of them are boys!! Can you believe that. 6 of them are 3 and will be leaving in a couple of weeks. Have you ever spent 2 hours with 5 three year old girls?? It’s a crack up. We have so much fun in there. They are so ready for primary though and I’m excited for them to move on to all the fun primary brings. But for the first time in I don’t know how many years, I will be in a calling where I don’t spend any of the time with my children. Weird. At least right now I still get to be with Keri. But maybe it’s good for all of us. Distance makes the heart grow fonder right??

Well there’s October! Told ya I didn’t do much…. :o)

Wow, that is too funny that now your last one is in nursery you are a nursery leader. Wait, weren’t you a nursery leader before?

Does your “guy” ship cheese? Of course that would probably make it just as expensive as the cheese I buy. Nevermind. :-)
