CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Spiritually Fed

on November 17, 2011

After almost 6 weeks of not writing I can’t help but want to write about some very awesome things that have happened. I feel very blessed at this time and hope to express these feelings so my posterity may one day feel that same spirit that overcomes me now.

It started in March of this year with a visit from Elder Ballard.

-Elder Ballard of the 12
-Elder Hinkley of the 70
-Stephen B. Allen – managing director of missionary department
-Elder Packer, area authority 70
-Sister Cheryl Esplin, 2nd counselor, primary presidency
-Sister Julie B Beck, General Relief Society President

Julie B. Beck was here the weekend after General Conference. Each and every special fireside added warmth and happiness to my soul. I’ve been pondering on this quite extensively and have come to the very important conclusion that either a) the Lord has something great in store for us here in Northern California or b) we are all going to h***

I tend to favor option A and have felt the affects already. The missionaries are on fire. Families seem to be moving into our ward at greater numbers than they have in the past. The desire to share my testimony with all I meet continues to increase. I’m determined to finish the Book of Mormon before the end of the year and that has increased my desire to read more and ponder more and pray more.

I’m grateful to a Heavenly Father who knows me and knows my life. Out of the billions of Heavenly Father’s children Sami Thompson’s insignificant trials and tribulations are important to Him and He attends to them as though I was His only child. He does not take them away and He does not make my life perfect, but He does give me the hope and endurance to press forward with happiness of heart and strength of body.

Mingle all this with an increase in temple attendance and BOOM, life takes on a whole new dimension.

The kids are growing up fast. They ask lots of questions and I have to be ready to answer them. They are feeling and thinking more spiritual things that they recognize and want to talk about. I need to be ready at all times to respond to that. That is not always easy to do!

I am grateful for my life. I am grateful for Scott and his continued love and support of me. I am most humbled by my elder brother Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. I am a child of God with potential to become like my father.

I end in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
