CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

The rest of August

on September 19, 2011

The rest of August was pretty boring actually! We spent the time being home. It was fabulous! We got lots of school work done, played with lots of neighbor kids. We invited friends over. Went swimming a couple of times and all in all just enjoyed our last weeks of summer before the school year started.

I did agree to tutor a couple of girls for the last 3 weeks of August. They were going to a new school and I guess their parents were concerned that they were not up to speed in math. So for 3 weeks, 2 hours a day we did math. They were good girls, very smart and it was a delight to teach them. They enjoyed playing with my kids too so they would stay after for a few hours the last week to play and have fun.

Scott went to San Diego again. This time for some temp work. It’s been amazing the blessings we have received since making our decision to send Scott back to school. He has seriously gotten more job offers in the last 4 months than he ever has!! He has taken some and turned down most. This one seemed like a good opportunity and was in between classes so it worked. We missed him but he enjoyed his temp job and his hotel on the water.

Jaime gave her first talk as the youth speaker in sacrament meeting. She did such a good job. She got so many compliments and she felt so good about herself. She said later in the day ‘I was so nervous, I almost puked on the stand!’. Luckily she didn’t and you couldn’t even tell she was that nervous.

Some other random things. Do you know what these two things have in common??

They are the two things we got for free for donating blood in August. It was AWESOME!!

Jaime painted this bowl. She got a bowl painting kit for her birthday and this was her creation. Oatmeal is not allowed in this bowl…. :o)

Keri is a crack up and enjoys posing for the camera. But she doesn’t pose long enough to get her looking! Either that or my camera is slow…

Phew, August is over. I might actually get caught up and blog in the moment….NAAAWWWW!!!
