CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

FINALLY a Beach Day

on September 15, 2011

We finally made it to the beach!! Our one and only beach day for this year was on Monday August 22. We invited all who wanted to come. We brought Katie with us which thrilled Jaime to no end. They have known each other since birth and still get along so well.

We had 9 families come. That consisted of 16 adults and 23 children (18 girls and 5 boys). It cracked me up when I realized what the boy to girl ratio was!!

We had a ton of fun as usual and got home super late. Such a fun day!!

My favorite beach!!

It started out overcast, as usual, but soon turned into the most beautiful day!!

This girl LOVED the sand. Her and Scott dug for hours!

What a beautiful young lady.

The only picture of me! I hate how that happens so often!!

These two had so much fun together. I love the beach. It really is a happy place to be!

Doesn’t that look so fun and beautiful?? Did I mention I LOVE the beach??

Scott dug this tunnel when he first got there. The kids loved this tunnel and their imagination ran wild with it. At different times it was a castle, a cave and a secret hide out!

One of the other dads there dug this whole and buried those brave boys willing to get in it. Toby and Milo were the only two brave ones!!

Still trying to get out….

Jaime got really good at this and LOVED it!!

Keri absolutely loved the water and was not afraid of it at all! She would become wild child as soon as the waves hit her. She’d run and scream and throw her hands in the air and run some more. It was hilarious!!

After hours of fun on the beach we headed to the fire pit. We tried to keep a roaring fire going most of the time so that we could stay warm and so we didn’t have to bring any wood home. We almost accomplished both of those goals. O’well, there is always next year!!

LOVE Kubb on the beach!

Tired but HAPPY!! Who wouldn’t be with a smore that big?? :o)

Only downfall to the whole trip??? Scott got a sunburn like no other. He put sunblock everywhere except his legs. They were so sunburned that they were swollen and he could hardly walk. For a week he put aloe on his legs every thirty minutes and couldn’t wear pants or shoes. It was awful!! Lesson learned!!
