The weekend of August 19-21 was an exciting one for Scott. He drove to San Diego to meet up with his brother’s and brother-in-law for a guy weekend. Scott’s dad turned sixty this year and so the boys planned this trip. The plan was to have Jane get Larry to the San Diego temple for a session. The boys were going to meet them there and surprise him. I wasn’t there, but the reports I get is that it worked! Larry was very surprised and the rest of the day went VERY well.

After a yummy lunch at a Mexican food place in downtown San Diego, the servers did the embarrassing ‘sing to you on your birthday’. Looks like the dessert was worth it though!!
They spent the evening at a Padre’s game. Fortunately the Padres won! They must have known they had a special row of men there from very far away!
Scott was very pleased with the trip and was grateful for the opportunity to spend some time with his dad and brothers.
The kids and I spent the weekend doing school/chores and we watched a couple of movies. I let Jaime and Alix stay up late Friday night and then they slept in my bed and I slept in the spare bed. I fell asleep to sound of their giggles. I’m not sure how late they stayed up but they sure did have fun!
On Sunday Jaime and I had the amazing opportunity to go to our first Mother/Daughter fireside. Ok, those are SUPER special. I get to do that for the next 15 years. How exciting is that?? This is a special time in the life of a mother/daughter and I’m enjoying every minute of it.
