CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

A Big Day

on September 5, 2011

Thursday August 18 was a BIG day for all of us. It started out with me watching Eyre kids for a few hours. Then Scott, Jaime and I headed to the temple. Yep, Jaime got to go do baptisms in the temple for the first time. What an amazing experience. She was smiling all day and just beaming as we drove to the temple. Once inside she just looked angelic. Really she did. It was amazing to be in the temple with my daughter. What a special moment. Scott did the baptizing and confirming while I just watched and cried! It was a neat experience. I think what made it most special was that her first time was with us. No one ever recommended it to us, but I highly recommend it. Being in the comfort of her parents there was no reason to be self conscious or afraid to ask questions. She’ll be much more confident now the first time she goes with her youth group.

Jaime had also been planning a date for her and I and Thursday was the day. So right after we got home from the temple we went out to eat. We grabbed some YUMMY burgers and fries from Bob’s Big Burgers. SO YUMMY!! Then we headed to one of only 2 movie theaters still playing Cars2. Great movie. Don’t go in expecting to laugh. I thought it would be funny like the first one, but it wasn’t. Once I got past trying to laugh and just watched the movie, it was GOOD! Highly recommend it. After the movie we came home and had some ice cream and then I sent her off to bed.

I asked her how she felt at the temple. With a beaming smile and angelic glow she said ‘It was so peaceful. I still just feel so peaceful’. A crowning moment for any parent! We love you Jaime. Thanks for making such good choices. Your Heavenly Father is so pleased and so are your earthly parents.
