CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Camps and such

on August 28, 2011

Saturday July 9 Jaime had arranged with Gayle that her and a couple of friends would learn to cook Baklava together. Jaime had been looking forward to this for weeks. I dropped off Jaime and her friend Annalise at 8:30am and picked up the Rich kids to babysit them.

Jaime reported having had a GREAT time and the Baklava was absolutely wonderful (That is second hand information. I didn’t get to have any).

After Jaime got home we spent the rest of the afternoon packing for her to go to Girls Camp. My baby got to go to girls camp!! It was wonderful to think of all the fun experiences she would have, I was a wreck thinking about her being gone for a whole week. But there has to be a first time for everything.

Sunday July 10 was her first day in Y.W. She had a great time and I sure did miss her in primary.

Monday morning I dropped Jaime off at the church at 7am. Then I rushed home, picked up Milo, Toby and Joseph and headed to Cub Scout Day camp. A few months ago I agreed to run a booth for the scouts. I would be in charge of the craft everyday for the Wolfs. I was so excited to be a part of Milo and his day camp experience. He was happy to have me there. When we showed up we realized they had put him with Bears instead. I went to talk to the person in charge and she was adamant that he stay where he was placed. If it was wrong I didn’t fill out the paperwork right. I was already a little emotional about Jaime. It was the week my mom died and now this. I just started bawling!! Lucky for me Laura was right behind me and took me aside and let me vent and cry for a couple of minutes. After that I was fine and handled the week with ease. Milo was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t going to be his craft teacher. He was even more disappointed that all the other boys in his pack were in the same group. But he did meet some new friends and the week was a lot of fun for him.

The theme of Day camp was space. They had Star Wars cut outs all over.

Milo w/ his buddies Joseph and Toby. Notice the different colored hats? That is how each group was identified. Milo would sit with Toby and Joseph’s den for lunch and the boys started joking that it looked like they made a sunflower. It was pretty funny!

Milo doing a skit with his den.

We picked up Jaime about 5pm on Saturday July 16. She had so much fun. She couldn’t stop talking about it for hours. It was fun to hear about all her adventures, see all her stuff, look at the pictures and see a light in her eye. It was awesome. She taught all her siblings her camp songs. Her and Milo ended up learning the same camp song. It was fun. Boy was it nice to have my girl back!!

While there they went on this hike and saw some pretty scenery.

More pretty scenery.
