CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

We’ve got a pre-teen

on August 24, 2011

So I realize that “pre-teens” are getting younger and younger, but I think 12 is really the official “pre-teen” age. And we’ve got one!!

July 8 was Jaime’s 12th birthday. She had so many wonderful things planned that her actual birthday was VERY low key! We spent the majority of the day cleaning, organizing, babysitting and shopping. I did bake some cupcakes and Jaime decorated them (which she LOVED doing).

We still had decorations up from Keri’s birthday so that was easy. The neighbors came over and had cupcakes and ice cream with us. Jaime got to pick the dinner. All in all I think it was a fabulous day of birth.

I know I usually do a list of my favorite things according to age, but I think a list of 10 is a good number of favorites so that will be my stopping place from now on.

-Jaime is an amazing big sister. I know I say this all the time, but she really is. Her younger siblings (all of them) hero worship her and she takes that very seriously.

-She is so talented in dance. She can pick up any dance fast and is good at it.

-She is a talented piano player. It’s amazing how much progress she has made these last 4 years.

-Jaime is a good baker and loves it. I love to see her get excited in the kitchen.

Our neighbor Aris

-She is my right hand man, er woman! I know I can rely on her to do whatever I need to and do it fast and right.

-She is the best kitchen cleaner. She can clean a kitchen in no time and it looks GOOD!

-Jaime knows who she is. She knows Heavenly Father and she knows he loves her. She is not afraid of who she is and lives the standards of the gospel VERY well.

-Her laugh. I love to hear her laugh and I love to see her smile. She is such a light to our family.

-She is smart. She is good in school and can pick up on anything that is put in front of her. She has a knack for writing and creativity. I love to read her written work.

-Jaime is fun to hang out with. She is easy to talk to and easy to laugh with.

Happy Birthday Jaime! I’ve always thought you look so much like your Dad, but now I think you are looking like your own, very feminine, person. I am sad that I am missing you grow up! It sounds like it would be a wonderful experience to be there watching it all!
