CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Utah Fun #7

on August 14, 2011

Saturday July 2 was a super fun day. I could just write a bunch of details about it, but I think it would be more fun to “see” what we did. Enjoy our Saturday in Blanding!

The stray cat that Niah found Saturday morning at Stan and Angela’s. She’ll end up babying this cat for the next 3 days. It was super sad for her to leave Blanding because she was not able to say goodbye to “her” cat (it was not around on Tuesday morning when we left).

Enjoying the yummy pancake/egg/sausage/fruit breakfast provided by Stan and Angela. The perfect way to start the day.

Second cousins enjoying their breakfast together.

Milo would not leave his boy cousins’ sides the whole time. He was so happy to have boys around and be able to do boy things.

At the cabin and ready for our first 4-wheeler ride. Jaime got really good on those things. By the end of the weekend she could ride by herself.

Dad and Keri enjoying the fun of the cabin.

Ok, so this swing is seriously cool and scary at the same time. These guys could get you whipping around so fast you were sure you’d fall off. They could get the kids going so fast that they would turn face down to the ground. The kids loved it, us parents were a little nervous!!

The kids waiting for their turn on the swing. The mom’s took over and the kids waited patiently for us to be done.

Jaime had so much fun with her second cousins once removed.

Even though you can’t really see him, this is Kevin. Ever since his first time up at the cabin he has been the official tortilla flipper. He’s good at it. But what’s even better is that if he’s flipping tortilla’s it’s because we are about to grub on some Carne Asada. And that we did!! Yum, yum, yum!!

Keri enjoying the porch swing with Auntie Maranda and Louis’ girl friend Brielle.

Auntie Allyson and Blaire playing foosball with Milo. It is so fun inside the cabin too. Plenty of couches to relax and chat on, plenty of beds to nap on and plenty of table space to put food or play games on. Such a great place. I can totally understand why the family loves it so much.

Is this not the coolest thing? So the cabin has no running water or electricity. It has an outhouse that Scott’s grandpa built when he built the cabin. So Scott’s mom decided to make a pinata to look like the outhouse. She did a GREAT job. That is what the outhouse looks like! She is so talented.

The loot!

Scott’s Aunt Fawn is very talented in the music department. Each time we have a family reunion she brings out a bunch of fun songs and we all sing while she plays the guitar. It is such a fun time and the kids really enjoy it too. She is really creative and so are her songs.

Milo being Milo! He got up and danced to one of the songs he was helping Aunt Fawn sing. He’s such a goof and has such a great personality.

All in all it was a GREAT Saturday. We went back to camp and showered all the kids (although it sounded more like a beating session). All the kids were so tired that when we tried to put them in the shower they cried and protested throughout the whole thing. But it had to be done. They all gladly fell into their sleeping bags and were asleep in 2 seconds.

Oh ya, I think I forgot to mention at the beginning of this tale that we, the Thompson side of this reunion, got campsites and stayed in tents during the reunion.
