CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Utah Fun #5

on August 12, 2011

Thursday June 30 was both super relaxed and super busy. We spent the whole of the morning just letting the kids play and lazily getting them dressed and ready for the day. Joy gave Milo a hair cut which he sorely needed and then we were off.

First we went hiking somewhere in American Fork. You hike up a mountain for about a mile and come to this amazing waterfall. The kind you see in the movies. The kind that are falling so fast and furious you get wet just standing near it. Very cool!

[My wonderful sister in law Joy.]

[This was seriously neat! I loved every part of it’s beauty.]

[These two have always gotten along so well. Well, except for the first time they met….]

[Such a beautiful view from the top!]

Then we stopped at an ice cream place that has HUGE cones for a buck. We had so much ice cream that even the kids couldn’t finish it all.

After leaving there we headed straight to Joy’s parents house. They have a pool. So while all the kids swam I made some lunch/early dinner and Joy went back to her house and got the boat ready.

[My little fish. Still not afraid of the water, no matter how deep or cold.]

[So grown up. She really is turning into a woman and I love it. She is so fun!]

[Not surprised that Alix found a frog. She still loves dirt and bugs. I love her so much!]

After a few hours of swimming we loaded the little kids (Milo, Niah, Caitlin and Daniel) into the boat and my brother and I took them out for a few hours. The crazy thing about Utah is that it really doesn’t even start to get dark till 9:30pm. So leaving to go on the lake at 6pm meant we still had 3 1/2 hours of fun left! The little kids played for about an hour and a half. Then Joy met us at the dock and we did a kid swap. Jaime, Alix and Kenneth joined us for a 2 hour boat excursion. All in all the kids had a BLAST!! Well….I did too!!

[It was perfect weather for swimming in the lake. The kids and I enjoyed it so much!]

[Super cool tube. All the kids could have fun at once.]

[Can’t believe I have 2 kids that are in the “older kids” category!]

[Captain of the boat. Thanks Steve!]

[Jaime’s not a fan of tubing. But she was a sport and tried it again.]

[Alix and Kenneth rocked! Steve almost threw them. On accident of course….]

[Even I got to have a little fun. And, Steve COULDN’T throw me!!]

[My nephew is really good at knee boarding.]

[Alix tried to knee board but just couldn’t get it. But isn’t that sunset beautiful? Most awesome part about being on the lake late!]

The kids all willingly fell into bed that night, but of course I stayed up late talking!!

Thanks Steve and Joy! We had so much fun. It’s always such a joy to spend time with you guys.
