CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Utah Fun #4

on August 12, 2011

Wednesday June 29 was zoo day. We met up with Mandi and her mom and 2 of her sister-in-laws. Melissa S. ended up meeting us there later too. So we had quite the group! But it was so fun. I love our yearly tradition of going to the zoo.

[Niah and her favorite new buddy!]

[The elephant display at the Utah Zoo is awesome. This elephant is HUGE!]

[About every minute, a spray of water shoots out it’s trunk. The kids love it!]

[They actually found stuff….]

[I don’t know this lady, but that was seriously the coolest bird show I have ever seen. The kids loved it and it kept them captivated for a good 40 minutes. Nice!]

[They had these neat dinosaur displays throughout the zoo. The kids thought they were so fun to watch. Afton was so confused as to whether or not they were real.]

[This is what Keri thought of the dinosaurs!!]

[Milo was our navigator and guide.]

[The kids were a little hot from the fun of the day. This huge ball can be turned because it’s surrounded by a thin layer of water. The kids love to play with this thing, and cool off in it too!]

[The group!]

After the zoo we all went out to eat. After lots of sad goodbyes, since I wouldn’t see Mandi and her family again till next year, we loaded in the car and headed to Melissa’s.

We had arranged to meet for a couple of hours, but we spent so much time at the restaurant I was afraid I’d miss seeing her. Fortunately for me, I was able to meet up with her at her new house and we had a good chat and caught up more and the kids got to play with the chickens and jump on the trampoline and Milo practiced his pitching and catching. What a great house and yard they have. I’m so excited for her.

Thanks Melissa for letting us come and hang out and enjoy your new place. We hope to see you again soon.

Before heading to my brother’s, we stopped off at Wal Mart to get a few things we needed to keep our trip enjoyable.

[Yep, I’m one of THOSE parents….. But the kids had tons of fun!!]

As soon as we left there we went to my brother’s house. They had just gotten back from going out to eat. Steve had had guests at his house for a week and we were grateful we could come and join the party too. After putting all the kids to bed we adults stayed up late talking. I always enjoy late night chat sessions with just the adults, but it sure does make for an even earlier morning!!
