CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Famine/Feast

on August 7, 2011

I think that is going to be the new name of my website. If my current name wasn’t so perfect, I’d change it. Hope you are ready for a feast….

I left off on June 15 so I will start with June 16. Since I write this for posterity, I’m going to try and give details even though all these events happened 2 months ago.

I was a little concerned about Father’s Day this year because Scott usually leaves at 6:20am for meetings and such. But this year Stake conference landed on Father’s day so it was perfect. I could now fulfill the kids’ wish to make dad breakfast in bed. But we didn’t actually take it to him in bed. We’ve learned that’s a little messy and besides, he wants to eat with the family. So we went upstairs singing ‘I’m so glad when daddy comes home’, gave him his presents and then brought him downstairs for a yummy breakfast of egg casserole, toast and hashbrowns.

I had so much fun thinking up Scott’s present. I saw something similar and emailed the picture to my friend Camille and asked her if she could recreate it. And she did. But then I wanted it printed an awkward size and couldn’t figure out how till I remember my neighbor Ian prints professionally at home and asked him if he’d print if for me. Then I had the idea of letting the kids sign/draw on the white part. I think it came out SO CUTE!!

Life gets hard when you are 3! First time Keri has fallen asleep at the table. She did it 3 other times. I guess not napping has really caught up with her!!

I made this cake for Roberta. One of her friends and his daughter were having a birthday celebration on the same day and they are both into sports. So I made this sports cake. Not one of my best, but I had fun making it.
