Milo’s Baptism Day

on June 1, 2011

Milo’s baptism was Saturday April 9 @ 10am. We had such a good turn out. It was a random day and time and so I wasn’t expecting many more than who was on the program and family. But we had about 50 people there. Whoa!!

Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, My brother and his family and my sister all came from out of town. It was nice to have so much family. They are great people and we really appreciate them!

Saturday morning was a hub bub of activity but the baptism started on time and it was very spiritual and nice. We appreciated all who participated and all who came. I’ll tell the rest of the story with pictures!

[These cousins LOVE each other!]

[Milo and the bishop.]

[Getting the cousin picture was a bit difficult this year!]

[This was even more difficult!!]

[The red was not planned! It just happened. But it sure does look good!]

[These two cousins get along so well! Thanks Steve and Joy for having a boy the same age as mine!!:o)]

[What a good look’n bunch huh?]

[Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! They also got him his own scriptures with his name on them. What a lucky little boy!!]

[Toby and Milo are such good buds! These boys are going to terrorize a young mens president someday!!]

After we got home from the baptism and changed, we did a bbq of hamburgers and hot dogs and sausage links. It was such a good lunch. We invited a few friends and of course our family. We ended up with about 24 children and 15 adults. It was so fun though!

After everyone left and we got all cleaned up, the adults went out to dinner at Mings. Our family favorite since my grandparents lived here. The kids stayed home and had mac and cheese and enjoyed playing with each other.

After Mings we came home and put the kids to bed. Grandma and Grandpa went back to the hotel. Steve and Joy stuck around and we talked and laughed a little longer. Then they left. We knew we’d see Grandma and Grandpa again, but Steve and Joy were traveling home the next day. We were so happy they came and made that sacrifice to be here. We are so blessed to be part of such a wonderful family.

Grandma and Grandpa went to church with us and had dinner with us, then they too had to leave and go home. The parting was sad, but we knew it would come. My kids only have them left as grandparents and they fulfill that roll very well. We love them so much and the kids are always so excited to see them.

[Niah did not want grandpa to go!]

All in all a very fun weekend. And NO ONE got sick!! Yay!!

Aw, such a fun time. I am sad I missed it. It feels so weird to almost have an 8 year old getting baptized at the end of the year, myself. You guys are such a good example to us.
