CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Scott’s Birthday

on March 15, 2011

My poor Scott has been VERY sick for the last 3 weeks. I feel bad for him. He’s taken as much time off as he can and now has to endure work while doped up on whatever over the counter medicine works for that day. But he is a trooper and goes through life with a smile!

With our 4 visitors being here on his birthday and him not feeling too well, we decided to have his birthday celebration on the day after. It was also a Saturday so it worked out GREAT.

The morning started with the 4 youngest kids helping me to make Scott’s birthday cake and breakfast. He wanted a homemade carrot cake too and so I had to deliver.

or breakfast we had pancakes, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns and milk. It was a fun and yummy breakfast.

Then Scott retired to bed for a day full of lounging around, getting waited on and just enjoying his special day. Since breakfast was so late and we wanted to do an early dinner we skipped lunch. Dinner was taco salad.

After dinner we watched a movie. It was called Aussie and Ted. A very heartwarming movie about a dog that rescues a stuffed animal that his owner loves. Afton LOVED the movie. The rest of us enjoyed the sweet message it was trying to deliver.

Then we did presents. For fun I hid Scott’s presents. My hope was that he’d find them over a few days and have some fun treasures to remind him of how much I love him. Apparently Alix either saw me hide them or found them and couldn’t help but give her daddy hints. O’well. He still had fun trying to figure out the hints and find all the presents.

Then our nieghbors Ian and his son Aris came over and had cake and ice cream with us.

Once they left, it was pretty late and we put the kids to bed. Scott took some more medicine and crashed for the night knowing Sunday would be an early morning!!

Some of my favorite things about Scott:

-He loves me so much and tells me often.

-He is a hard worker and goes to work even when he doesn’t feel good.

-He is an AWESOME dad!!

-He makes me laugh!

-When I see him my heart leaps for joy at the wonderful man Heavenly Father gave me.

-He’s handy and can fix anything.

-He’s strong and can remove anything!

-He supports me in my endeavors in this life, even when they are crazy endeavors!

I love you Scott.
