Our Trip to the Temple

on January 20, 2011

I forgot to do a write up on our trip to the temple. We always like to make a family trip to the temple to see the lights and feel the spirit. This year we decided to wait till the day after Christmas to go. It worked out great because 1)My sister was here and 2)My friend Audrey would be performing.

It was a pretty cold night but we bundled everyone up and went. The kids love this outing and they were excited to go into the visitors center first and check out the things in there. They especially like watching the shorts on the little movie screens. After a while we headed outside to check out the nativity and the lights. Then we proceeded to the top of the temple where you can walk around and see a most spectacular view of the bay. After which we headed to the auditorium for the performance.

We got there a little early (ok, an hour early). But there was another performance going on so we watched that one. Audrey was playing the piano with 3 others. They did it on 2 grand pianos. It was called 8 hands, 2 grands. It was amazing and we were glad we went. She did a fabulous job and the kids really liked it.

[Kinda blurry but I was back pretty far and it’s not easy to keep a steady hand!]

After the performance we ran around just a bit more and then headed home. All in all a very fun and relaxing evening. I think my sister enjoyed it to.

Awesome! I have to say that in the 3.5 years I lived in the Bay Area I never walked the top of the temple. Sad, huh?
