CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

End of November

on December 8, 2010

On Friday November 26, Scott and Louis planned a morning temple trip. They left about 9am and returned shortly after 2. They reported having a good time and even had lunch together. While they were doing that I was babysitting and finishing clean up of the day before.

[Brotherly love, how sweet!]

We had the missionaries for dinner. We decided to give the missionaries a break from Thanksgiving and fed them navajo tacos. They loved the tacos, thanks Louis for doing the fry bread, but revealed that they actually didn’t have a traditional Thanksgiving the day before. They were invited to join some Chinese families for their Thanksgiving. O’well, it just meant more leftovers for us later on.

[Their favorite pastime, climb all over Uncle Louis!]

After putting the kids to bed, Scott, Louis and I played phase 10 and had a good time joking and enjoying each others company.

Saturday morning Louis got up early to finish packing and get going. It was a sad goodbye but we were grateful he made the trip. We had such a good time with him and the kids loved him being here. He’s such a good uncle.

[Afton was constantly asking Uncle Louis to read her a story and know what? HE DID!! I think his vocal cords must have been pretty tired by the time he left here!!]

After Scott dropped off Louis, I went to a friends house and we went to the temple together. While I was doing that, Scott had his first opportunity to be in charge of a funeral. A couple of days after the bishop left for business out of town for 2 weeks, a wonderful elderly man in our ward passed away. Ray Gaisford will be missed. I remember a couple of years after we moved into the ward, Sister Gaisford came up to me at church and said that her and Ray wanted to babysit the girls for us so we could go on a date. Alix was about 6 months then. They also gave us movie tickets and we went and saw The Other Side of Heaven in the theater. Anyway, we’ve had a bond ever since. Love the Gaisford’s. I know he’s in a good place now.

We spent the rest of the day lazing around and enjoying the warmth of cuddling on beds/couches since it was a cold and stormy day outside.

I did it! I made it to the end of November before January came!!

Just caught up on your blog. Have I said before that you are amazing? Well you are! I swear when I read about all that you have done and all the kids are doing I feel like I need a nap. You have such a great attitude and a willing spirit. You are pretty great! Miss you.
