All our Halloween preparations finally came together and we were ready on Saturday October 30 for the ward Halloween party.
Our ward does it up pretty good and we were not let down this year. They had dinner, popcorn, cotton candy, soda and a dessert table. They had a bounce house, carnival games, face painting, a “haunted” house and a picture booth.
It was so much fun! The decorations were awesome and the socializing was fun. It was the first year that I didn’t help and I didn’t have a little one to follow around. Niah, Afton and Keri stuck together and had a fabulous time, Scott helped in the kitchen and I just talked and had a good time. What a change! However, I was so busy socializing, I didn’t get many pictures!
Sunday was spent observing the sabbath. In the evening we turned off all the lights downstairs and went upstairs and watched a movie. About half way through the movie, my visiting teacher came and that was nice to visit with her without the distraction of the littles. All in all a VERY successful Halloween time.
[The Team! Thompson’s can do anything!!]
The best part about the whole ward party?? WE WON THE FAMILY COSTUME CONTEST!! We stole the title from the Hansen’s who have won it 4 years in a row. Yay for us!! I’m a little concerned though. The Hansen’s are super creative and I think they want their title back… :o)
