CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Halloween fun #1

on November 9, 2010

Lucky for us Google still does an annual Halloween party. They definitely don’t do it up like they used to, but it was still so fun!

Let me back up just a bit. So we have some very awesome families in our ward and many of them find Halloween a great holiday to dress in theme as a family. We caught on to this 3 years ago and have had such a fun time with it ever since. After much debate we finally decided to dress the girls as cheerleaders, the boys as football players and the mom as the coach. It was going to be a challenge, but I was up for it. Till I saw the cheerleader skirt pattern.

So I called up my good friend Tiesha and asked her if she’d mind helping me with the skirts. She said sure. After one meeting with her she said, very politely ‘Do you mind if I just finish these on my own?’ I’m not that good of a sewer and I’m guessing she realized that very fast!

So Tiesha did the skirts, we borrowed the football jersey’s from Dean (his old ones from his high school years) and I was able to do the rest. It was fun and all the costumes came out GREAT.

Back to the Google party.

My sister was in town and so she joined us for the party. Jaime and Alix opted to go to dance class instead. I guess they are growing out of the work party stage.

[We used pillows for pads and tie dyed the shirts for the girls]

[super long snake! it was VERY cool.]

[Is that not the coolest wildcat that Milo had drawn on his arm?]

[This was the first time that Keri has let anyone do face painting on her. All the kids looked GREAT with their works of art.]

We had so much fun. They had the exotic animals. A pumpkin patch. We picked two pumpkins because the day before I had bought 3. They had candied apples, pretzels, freshly made kettle corn, cookies and fresh fruits and veggies. They also had a trick or treat ally where you could get fruit snacks, fruit leather and little trinkets. Guess we went sugar free this year….. :o)

We all had a GREAT time. We all came home with full bags and smiles on our faces.
