So we do FHE pretty regularly around here. But it tends to be boring and FAST. So we have recently recommitted to doing more meaningful, fun family home evenings. Our first one was so good. We each had an index card with our name on it and then we passed it around and each person in the family wrote something nice on the card including ourselves. Afton was asleep and Keri was just having fun watching us, so they did not participate in this particular activity. But it was fun. Here are the results:
SCOTT:

-Has the priesthood/gives blessings

-Is really funny because he is
-You are a good dad (you play with the kids), a good provider (you have a job) and you love me.
-I love him because he gives me hugs and kisses
SAMI:
-I like that I strive to feel the spirit
-I like her because she is sweet
-Mom encourages me to be better
-Mom makes everything fun
-Mom always takes me places
-Mom gives me a good education
JAIME:
-I like it how I can dance good
-I like how Jaime loves and cares for her younger siblings. I love her.
-I like her because she is nice to me. She shared her art kit with me.
-Jaime has a GREAT sense of humor
-Jaime is a good baby sitter
Jaime is a good person to be around
ALIX:
-I share a lot
-She’s a good friend
-She is always good at following the rules and helping others do the same. I love you!
-She helps me a lot with my chores.
-Alix is very clever
-Alix is helpful and generous.
MILO:
-I am healthy and strong
-I like how he loves me
-He’s very brave because of his surgeries
-He is always helpful and desires to do what is right. I love you!
-I like him because he is nice to me
-Milo makes me laugh. We are buds
NIAH:
-I like the way I dance
-Niah is very loving
-Niah is very kind
-Niah shares a lot
-Niah has a special gift of making everyone feel loved. I love you!
We will definitely redo this activity at a later time when all the kids can participate. What a special night this was and the kids now have their cards to keep with them always!
