CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Girls night out

on July 11, 2010

While Scott was gone with Niah and Milo fishing, the rest of us decided to have a fun girls day/night out.

We started the evening with mom giving blood. Then we went to the $1 store for supplies, Costco, Wendy’s for dinner, Wal Mart and finally the grocery store for junk food. We came home and ate and then did beauty shop.

[Jaime was in heaven! So was Afton.]

[Keri thought this was the coolest thing. I was impressed with how long she sat there and let us paint her nails!]

We painted toe nails, finger nails and did make-up and hair. It was SO much fun. Jaime had the most fun followed by Afton and Keri. Alix actually wasn’t into it too much. I’m not surprised though. She enjoyed it but was definitely “done” way sooner than the rest of us.

[After an hour and a half we had to close down the beauty shop so I didn’t get any beautifying done and Jaime only got her nails painted. But we had SO much fun!]

After I put the 2 little girls down, Jaime, Alix and I stayed up and watched Cheaper By the Dozen. I had forgotten how much I liked that movie. I swear they quoted the prophet whether on purpose or not. At one point the dad says ‘It doesn’t matter what I do at my job if I fail in raising my kids’ (or something close to that). Sound familiar to anyone? ‘No other success in life can compensate for failure in the home.’ -President David O. McKay 1964

[Very vogue!]

[Afton doing beauty shop when she should have been getting her p.j.’s on!!]

The girls and I got to bed around midnight. Oh ya, did I mention the ice cream sundaes we had? Oh so good!!

Somehow it doesn’t surprise me that Alix wasn’t into beauty shop! She should have gone fishing and let Niah stay for it, huh? Another time I suppose.
