CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Keri is Two!!

on June 26, 2010

June 15, 2010 marked the 2nd birthday of sweet little Keri. We are so pleased to have her in our family. She brings such joy to us. I can understand why people think the last child is the most spoiled. I don’t think they are the most spoiled, they are just enjoyed more because they are the last and cherishing every moment is a delight. Plus, the older kids are enjoying her so much too. Especially Jaime and Alix. They are such good little mommies for her and Keri loves every moment of it.

However, when you are the last child you tend to get the short end of the stick way too often and that is exactly what happened to Keri this year! But because she is so young she didn’t even notice, thank goodness.

I saw a really cool cake idea and really wanted to do it. You layer different colors of cake to make a rainbow pattern when you cut into it. Rainbow was not what happened to our cake. It was more like tie-dye. But cute nonetheless.

Jaime enjoyed frosting the cake and cupcakes while I ran around crazy all day. Dinner consisted of bbq beef in hot dog buns, french fries and green beans.

The younger kids just got a bunch of toys we already owned and wrapped them up. Keri didn’t care. When she started opening she thought she was the luckiest kid on earth!

Keri was hilarious with her cake. She was afraid of the candles at first and put a very cute, over dramatic show on for us. We all laughed tremendously. Then she actually blew the candles out on her own. I’m not even sure she knew what she was doing, but she did it very well!

Guess what?? She ate the entire cake by herself (ok, I had a couple of bites) but she did fabulous.

My two favorite things about Keri:

1- She makes us laugh constantly!
2- She loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses.

[Seriously, who couldn’t love that face??]

Happy Birthday Keri! We love you so much and are so glad you came to our family. May we be all you need and more!
