Tuesday was my busy day. Alix had an appointment with her gastrointestinal doctor. I found babysitting for Niah and Milo and took the rest of the gang with me. Her doctor was glad to hear that we had not seen any more bleeding but wants to do another lower G.I and add an upper G.I just in case. He said if both of those come out clean then she is free of these for a good 3 years. If he finds anything then this will be her yearly routine for a while. She is scheduled to have the procedure the middle of September. After the appointment we went to Gayle’s restaurant and enjoyed lunch. The kids were super excited to see Gayle and even cleared and cleaned some tables for her (she was pretty busy). After that we got an oil change in the van and then picked up Niah and Milo. We made it home in enough time for chores and dinner and bed. Jaime did get to attend activity days and enjoyed that very much. It was a great day.
Wednesday July 23, we got up early and did chores and got dressed and went to visit a home bound lady in our ward, Gwen Dalrymple. It was fun. She has a great backyard for kids and so the kids were happily entertained. She had one of her grandchildren over and so everyone played very nicely together. After about an hour we left and went and picked up the Bennett kids so Camille could get a few things done. They played from noon till 4. It was so fun and I was glad to have them here. The kids were glad too!! After they left we made dinner and did chores and welcomed dad home. Then we went to bed.
Ok, so Thursday July 24 was our busy day!! We spent the whole morning being cleaning maniacs. We skipped piano so we could get all the chores done before swimming. I woke up an hour early so that I could get more done and ended up doing more than I should have. I did two batches of strawberry jam besides all my regular chores. It was worth it though and it had to be done before the strawberries went bad. Why all the cleaning and jam making and and and??? Mandi was coming to town. For those of you who don’t know Mandi (which I’d be surprised if you didn’t) she’s been my best friend since 8th grade. She hasn’t been out to California since I got married and I was VERY excited that she was finally making the trip. Unfortunately it was without her kids (my kids would have enjoyed that very much) but I was glad to have some “girl†time with just Mandi. So we went swimming. Left there and started for the airport. I realized we were a little early leaving and so we stopped at a park on the way and I let the kids play. Fun for me….Keri had a huge blow out. Her very first HUGE blow out. She covered me, her blanket and of course, herself. I, of course, did not have a change of outfit, but I was able to cover most of the damage with my shirt. We got to the airport and waited about 15 minutes before Mandi called to say she was headed out to the curb. It was so fun to see her again. I almost didn’t recognize her! We said our hello’s and then headed back to Fremont. I had my 6 week check up and Scott was going to meet me there. We met up and exchanged cars. He took the kids home and Mandi and I were on our own…. After my appointment (all went well, I’m all healed) we went out to eat at the Elephant Bar. It was really good food but the company was even better. Then we went to the grocery store. They were having an incredible deal on cereal and so I stocked up. Then we went to the mall. We had three hours to find the perfect blessing dress for Keri at a reasonable price. It took 15 stores and two hours, but we found it. We left there and went to another grocery store for milk (after all what good is cereal without milk?). Then we made it home about 10pm. All was well here. We talked a bit more with Scott then said our good nights. I think we made it to bed by midnight.
Friday morning came way too early, but it was a beautiful day. We all got up, showered, dressed and packed. We were in the car and leaving for Fresno by 9am. We took Mandi on a short tour of Fremont to show her all the other places we had lived in the last 10 years. The trip to Fresno was uneventful and we made it in time for lunch; mac and cheese. We spent the remainder of the afternoon inside since it was hot outside. We played with grandma, made messes and enjoyed everyone’s company. Sara taught me how to make a yummy Greek meal and we ate like kings and queens that night. After dinner we took the kids swimming. That was fun and the kids really enjoyed playing with Auntie Sara in the pool. By the time we got back Grandma and Grandpa Thompson had arrived. More fun, yay!! The kids enjoyed their company for a good hour before they needed to leave to get some sleep. The rest of us stayed up late playing games and having a combined birthday, valentine’s, Easter party (we haven’t visited as much as we had planned so mom had things for each holiday we had missed). It was a VERY fun evening and we all had a great time. Mandi and I made a late night trip to Wal Mart while Scott put the kids to bed. The kids got to bed about 10:30pm. That was ok since three of them took naps till 5. Mom and Sara retired about 10:30 too. After we got back, Mandi and I cleaned while Scott fixed mom’s computer. I think we got to bed around 1 am.
