CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

February was Fantastic!!

on March 22, 2010

Having decided months before, I scheduled nothing extra for February. I wanted to leave it wide open for doctor appointments and plenty of nothing days for Milo to heal and relax. What a great idea I had and what a wonderful month we had. Here are some highlights…..

-Lots of doctor appointments
-Dance class on Tuesday’s (Niah) and Thursday’s (Jaime)
-A primary party
-Valentine’s day
-Ward Chinese New Year party
-Lots of cleaning and organizing
-Lots of school
-Lots of relaxing/playing/getting back into a routine
-Alix’s field trip to the San Jose Ballet

When we first got home from the hospital they sent us home with 3 different medications that we were suppose to administer to Milo round the clock for 2 weeks. I really felt uncomfortable with this and, after much praying and pondering, Scott and I decided that Milo didn’t really need all those medications. So we didn’t give him any of the medicine. From day one we could tell a difference in his personality and his ability to enjoy activity and his sisters’ constant desire to play and talk to him. He had up times and down times for about 3 days, but then he was stable and mostly up. By day 6 he was a perfectly fine and happy 6 year old boy.

That was when school and simple chores started. Then we added in a few activities and before long everyone was acting bored and wondering when our regular busy routine would resume. It was such a fun month though. We got school and chores done everyday and we even had time to play outside and do fun puzzles and games in the house. I’ve decided I like that schedule so much more than the busy schedule I tend to create for this family.
