CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

More on Milo

on January 12, 2010

During all of our holiday festivities, we got a call from the oral surgeons office saying that they needed to take more impressions of Milo and if we could come in on the 5 of January. So off to San Francisco I went. Thinking this would be much like the last appointment I didn’t worry too much about time and other things going on in the afternoon. Well, it turns out they wanted to do more than just take molds, they are trying to build the appliance that will fit into his mouth after surgery. So we were there for 4 hours! Plus drive time, I was gone from 11:30-7pm. It was nuts. 2 hours of that time was spent going to Oakland and getting birth certificates for the kids (it was on the way and so it seemed like the best thing to do).

The coolest part of this appointment was seeing the plastic replica of Milo’s skull. It was interesting to see what it all looks like under all that skin! Milo did really well again. Although I think he got pretty tired of it all by the last hour.

During the appointment the dentist doing the mold and appliance mentioned that I needed to have 2 more appointments. One fast/easy one and another long one. I informed him I live quite far and wondered if there was any way we could reduce that to one more time. He obliged and we have to go in tomorrow for the last time before the surgery. It is suppose to be a long day tomorrow. Thanks to so many wonderful friends, I don’t have to worry about my girls too much!

As things progress and we have Milo’s surgery I will be sure to post when I can.

First, I want to know if you get to keep the model of his skull after he’s through with the sugery. Way cool. Second, are you not asking me to help with the girls because we have cooties, or becuase I abused K.A. by forgetting to give her the binkie?
