CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

End of Year Festivities

on January 12, 2010

During the week leading up to Christmas I signed Alix up for a class through the community center. It was suppose to be an all day art class. I only signed her up for half day. I’m glad I did. Although she did some very fun art things, the class itself turned out to be a disaster. So the next week when she was suppose to go to a cooking and art class I was a little worried. It turned out GREAT! She had a fabulous time and brought home 3 yummy recipes and a cute handmade calendar.

Milo took a sports class the same week that Alix took her cook n art class. He LOVED it and I LOVED It because he was worn out by the time I picked him up in the early afternoon. Boys need to run and I’m afraid Milo does not run enough!

New Years Eve was a hopping party over here! Our good friends the Dalrymple’s agreed to join us again this year. It’s so fun to get together with them. Their girls are older than ours which is fun because my girls ADORE their girls. And they only have one boy too. Even though he is a bit older than Milo they get along GREAT. I think it’s because they have so much in common!

After a yummy dinner of Carne Asada burritos we watched the new movie UP. Of course we had to watch the movie while eating marshmallow popcorn (our new favorite treat!). The jury is still out on that movie, but I think I don’t like it. At least not as much as other movies I’ve seen. After the movie we got into game mode.

[Afton gett’n a game]

We played 3 different games and ate and laughed and talked while doing it. The other kids played and watched little kid movies and ate too! After blowing noise makers and letting poppers off at midnight we came back in for more fun.

We played more games. We played with blow guns. We even ate more food! We all finally decided to call it quits at 3am. But what fun we had. Jaime, Alix, Milo and Niah all made it to midnight. Jaime and Milo made it till 3am.

[things got a little “interesting” toward the end….it’s rootbeer people!!]

Scott and I crashed at 3:30am. Fun times had by all. Can’t wait till next year and hopefully the Dalrymple’s will want to do it all over again!
