So, in all my updating I realized that I have neglected to say anything about our cute youngest daughter Keri. She is growing up so fast and I’m not recording her progress as well as I would like. Poor 6th child! She’ll cope though because when it really matters (when she’s a teenager) she’ll be the only child!
[the first time she let me put a bow in. isn’t she cute!!??]
In the last four months (June 15-October 15 2009) here are all of Keri’s accomplishments. I have put them in order:
-learned to crawl the “right” way
-learned to stand up in the middle of the room
-if you ask her ‘where’s Keri’ she’ll cover up her ears and then moves them. Then we say ‘peek a boo’. We haven’t gotten her to put her hands on her eyes yet. But it’s insanely cute nonetheless.
-learned to stand up holding onto something
-learned to “cruise” along the furniture
-popped out 4 molars
-she will “talk” to you and move your face so you will look at her
-she gives hugs and kisses on demand
-loves to laugh hysterically she puts her head back and just laughs too cute!
-she can crawl out the door and down the steps in both the front and back
-she says ‘bye’ very well and does the princess wave while saying it
-she took 5 steps. Then crawled for another 4 weeks.
-she will fold her arms during prayer and will be quiet too. Then when we say amen she says something and smiles so happily.
-she has perfected the fall on the floor screaming act. She loves to throw herself back and then cry and see what the reaction is. Of course we all laugh.
-she can look at each of her siblings if you ask her where they are.
-she HATES people. Well females mostly but really all people are her nemesis unless you live with her.
-She realizes that if she screams REALLY LOUD during sacrament meeting, it gets results. LOTS of results. Somehow we only endured this new talent 4 weeks in a row……
-helps Milo unload the dishwasher. No really she does. She knows where all the low stuff goes and puts it away. All the high stuff she gets out of the dishwasher and hands it to Milo. She really is helpful. I can’t wait till she’s a little older……
-she crawls all the way up the stairs. She did this for a good 3 weeks and would sit at the top of the stairs “singing” or “talking” till someone would carry her down and then right back up she’d go.
-Keri finds the toilet very fun to play in. We teach the children really quickly to keep the bathroom doors closed.
-Jaime taught her to crawl back down the stairs.
-Keri WALKS!! Pretty much right on her 16 month birthday she put one foot in front of the other forever. She thinks it’s the coolest thing ever. She’ll walk in circles just because she can. She’ll walk from one end of the room to the other and just laugh. She now “runs” to dad when he gets home from work and squeezes his legs.
-gets a stool. carries it to the kitchen counter and climbs up. starts grabbing whatever her little hands can as fast as she can.
-she loves to dance. she is quite good at it too. if I get time I’ll have to upload videos of it.
I’m pretty sure that is all of it. Keri is such a delight to have around and we are so glad that she is part of our family. We have such a good time teaching her new things and involving her in what we do. She feels so grown up too.
Keri is cute in that picture with the bow, but she looks a little concerned! Hm, I wonder where she gets the putting her head back and laughing thing? It couldn’t be from you! Drew is currently in the taking 5 steps and then crawling for a month stage. Actually, the both sound very similar. Drew also LOVES the toilet. Unfortunately my girls haven’t learned to close the bathroom doors, so I am constantly washing his hands, which just fuels the fire!! Urg. Drew also hates women, but loves men.
Hope you are feeling better very soon. We are sending something in the mail to you tomorrow. Nothing having to do with being sick, just thought I would warn you to keep an eye out.
I am amazed to find out how much Keri and Ryan have in common! Scooting the chair around to climb up on things, unloading the dishwasher, dancing, etc. But he definately likes me a lot better than Keri does! I still feel badly about her last time with me.
