Friday August 21 found me VERY tired and not feeling well. But I had a lot to do. We had to clean out the car from the beach trip. We had to clean the house for the arrival of new guests. We had to clean the back yard so there would be a place to have Alix’s after baptism bbq and I had TONS of laundry to do that I wanted out of eye’s view before everyone came. So I took a couple of Motrin, prayed I wouldn’t throw up and got to work. Scott stayed home to help. What a great guy!!
We managed to get all the work done (except the laundry) by about noon. It was at that time Torry needed to be to the airport to meet Kevin. So Scott and I took her so that they could borrow our car (Doesn’t make much sense, I know. I didn’t need to go, but for some reason it didn’t occur to me that Torry could drive one of the cars to the airport, I was a third wheel and didn’t need to go at all. Too bad too, I would have rathered stay home!!). Anyway, on the way home from the airport I got super sick again. I walked in the door, said HI to my in-laws and went upstairs. My wonderful mother-in-law cleaned my kitchen and helped fold laundry. Roberta let me use her washer and dryer so my laundry doing could go faster. And my brother and his kids endured the day with such patience. After my exit, the crew went bowling and then brought some dinner home.
My brother and I both had 4 free meals from KFC and so they redeemed those. We still had 2 pizza coupons left so those were redeemed too. Believe it or not there was plenty of food for all 4 adults and 8 kids (Niah was still sick too and so she was not eating). By the time dinner was over, I was feeling MUCH better and even sneaked a few bites of coleslaw. We got the kids to bed on time. By the time it was night time my brother was not sure he felt well. We did a round of blessings before putting everyone to bed and saying goodbye to grandma and grandpa Thompson (they had a hotel). Sometime in the night Torry and Kevin showed up to grab a few hours of sleep before the BIG day. I slept WONDERFUL! Unfortunately my brother did not! I was up and feeling great at 6 am. What a glorious feeling it was. Even more glorious because it was Alix’s baptism day. I didn’t want anything to ruin it.
